The Tara Angkor hotel is a beautiful hotel
and is ideally and conveniently located, Tara Angkor Hotel is situated only 6
km from the Angkor Wat Temples, 15 min drive from the Siem Reap International
Airport, a few minutes stroll to the Angkor National Museum and a short ride to
the city town center with an array of Cambodian souvenirs, shopping and
culture. They have a few promotions that you can make use of if you haven’t
booked already: Last minute bookings, summer sales, early bird promotion or
Angkor temptations. Of course there are a lot more, but have a look at their
website. It is not that far to the Angkor temples that I would advise you to
see for sure. I would say, grab yourself a 3 day
pass and find yourself a decent tuk tuk driver to take you to the farther ruins
and for a drive in some of the outlying villages. If you’re up for it consider
renting a bike and checking out Angkor Wat on your own. There’s a lot to see
and do so a lot depends on your time and budget. A few temples I would strongly
suggest you check out besides Angkor Wat itself are Bayon Temple, Angkor Thom
and of course Ta Prohm just to see the amazing tree. The Banteay Srei temple is
farther out of Siem Reap but has a very different feel than a lot of the
others. If you want to do something else as well, you can visit the day and
night market. I can really recommend these attractions. If you need to know
more, let me know.

Re: Siem Reap and the Temples of Angkor

Dear Smith Cam,

Thank you for responding, but could you be more specific. You mentioned the Angkor temples. Is there more to do or see? And what about the Tara Angkor hotel? Do you know this hotel?

Re: Siem Reap and the Temples of Angkor

Siem Reap, located in northwestern Cambodia, is the gateway to the world-famous Angkor temple complex, which includes the magnificent Angkor Wat. Perhaps you can answer them. I am going to Cambodia on September this year. Besides Cambodia, Thailand and Vietnam are also listed to be visited. But still I have a question about a hotel you might have seen during your visit in Siem Reap. I booked the following hotel: Tara Angkor Hotel. You know if it is a good hotel? I heard good stories about it. What are the best attractions to visit in Siem Reap and in the surrounding?

Re: Why Travellers Should Be Aware of Firesheep

The scenery was mostly green rolling hills with little villages dotted
here and there, and canoes and boats docked on the shores.

Re: Review of Termas de Chillan aka Nevados de Chillan

I am surfing for article like this. Most of the bodies attractive this affectionate of admired tips.

Re: Siem Reap and the Temples of Angkor

To whom has never been to Angkor might has believed that Angkor is only one monument, Angkor Wat Forehead. It did cost a bit extra for the one-way hire, although I can't remember how much. Email Jules, I'm sure he'll give you a price which will include the cost of petrol to Thakhek and a bus fare back for whoever rides the bike down. He didn't have an office in Thakhek, but we dropped the bike off with a friend of his. You can probably also ask to have your bags ferried to Vientiane so that you don't have to worry about lugging them on the bike. Good luck and enjoy the ride, it's an incredible part of the world!

Re: The Thakhek Loop, Unlooped

Love the site, especially the photos. I was wondering if you knew whether is is possible to rent a motorcycle in Thakhek and drop it off in Vientiane. Basically, doing the opposite ride you guys did. I checked out Jules' site and it doesn't mention an office in Thakhek. Did it cost extra to return the bike to a different location? Keep up the good work.

Re: Siem Reap and the Temples of Angkor

Your beautiful photos also took me back to what's left of those awe-inspiring temples. I was also impressed with the level of detail you included in your descriptions of the temples. When I was there earlier this year, I was shocked at the number of people who strode through the temples, eager to get through some ridiculous list they'd created. They often passed those incredible bass reliefs which, without a knowledgeable guide like yours, or a well-researched book like ours, are impossible to get a grasp of at all. For me, the stories that were told through those reliefs are, perhaps, the most interesting part of a visit to Angkor's ruins. An enjoyable post!

Re: Mobile Internet Settings for South East Asia

Latest internet and mobile info for Laos at http://go2c.me/laocomms

Re: Krabi Night Market

I really love the province krabi due its busy beautiful nights, you can't say weather its day time or night.

Re: Beng Melea: Angkor’s Real Tomb Raider Temple

By the way, would you be interested by a link exchange? In addition, right next to the
Palace, there is the traditional Silver Pagoda, home to priceless Buddha
statues such as the Emerald Buddha and a life-sized gold Buddha covered in
valuable jewellery and thousands of gems. This pagoda also has a floor
covered by over five thousand magnificent silver tiles. Furthermore, the National Museum, a red-brick, pseudo-Khmer style
structure built by French in 1917 is a fascinating attraction which consists of
a wide collection of Khmer sculptures. These sculptures belonged to the
pre-Angkorian period or the seventh century to the post-Angkorian period known
as the 14th century.

Re: Buddha Park: It’s concrete and it’s wierd.

Thanks for sharing the information regarding the place..
